This is the final Election Day for the school board (as well as the primary election for many other local, state, and federal races). As long as you are a registered voter you can vote for the Board of Education whether you have students in the school system or not.

JCS Parents and Citizens is nonpartisan and believes that our Board of Education should also remain nonpartisan. This allows our elected members to remain beholden to our county’s students, faculty, and staff rather than any political party or agenda.

Although these candidates are running as individuals and wish to speak for themselves, we as a group believe they are the best choice for our community.

Our county’s academic performance is on an upward trajectory. We support candidates who have a plan for continuing that trajectory, attracting and maintaining quality teachers, and holding to educational standards set at the state and federal levels. Equally important is that our candidates display a broad reach into our community and demonstrate an ability to engage with constituents from a wide range of backgrounds and aspirations. We believe that supporting such candidates sets our children up for a bright future, cultivating greater opportunity for everyone in our county.
